A cross-platform mobile app for DX/DT Enzymes — letting researchers browse 59+ molecular biology products, download protocols, and manage favorites from their phone.

DX/DT Enzymes (DXBIDT) — a Bangalore-based molecular biology company backed by C-CAMP — needed a mobile-first solution to bring their growing catalog of 59+ research-grade enzymes, mastermixes, and kits directly into the hands of scientists across India.
Himalya NextGen designed and built a cross-platform mobile application for iOS and Android that makes browsing the full DXBIDT product catalog fast, intuitive, and accessible — whether researchers are in the lab, on campus, or in the field.
The app integrates directly with DXBIDT's existing WooCommerce backend for real-time product sync, features guest browsing for zero-friction discovery, Google social login for returning users, downloadable research protocols, product favorites, and a full in-app catalog organized across 6 research categories including PCR, cDNA Synthesis, DNA Ladders, Enzymes, Reagents, and Real Time PCR.
Strategic Process
Phase 1
Audited DXBIDT's full WooCommerce product database of 59+ SKUs across 6 categories, mapped the protocol documentation structure, and defined user personas — from PhD researchers to lab technicians.
Phase 2
Designed a mobile-first interface in Figma that makes navigating complex scientific product data approachable — category-based browsing, fast catalog search, and a streamlined login flow with guest access.
Phase 3
Built the cross-platform Flutter app with live WooCommerce REST API sync, Firebase authentication with Google Sign-In, protocol PDF downloads, and favorites management — deployed for both iOS and Android.
Technical Features
Key Highlights
Browse all 59+ molecular biology products — enzymes, PCR mastermixes, DNA ladders, cDNA kits — organized by research category with catalog numbers and specifications.
Guest browsing lets researchers explore the full catalog instantly without signup. Google Sign-In enables one-tap login for returning users with full account features.
Researchers can search and download product protocols as PDFs directly inside the app — no need to visit the website during active lab sessions.
The app is built as a cross-platform application using Flutter and is designed for both iOS (Apple App Store) and Android (Google Play Store). It is currently in final review before public release.
Development is complete. The app is currently pending App Store and Play Store review and will be published on both platforms shortly. This portfolio page will be updated with live download links once published.
The app connects directly to DXBIDT's existing WooCommerce backend via REST API. Product information, categories, catalog numbers, and availability are always pulled live — no manual app update required when the catalog changes.
Yes — guest mode allows any researcher to browse the full product catalog and download protocols without any signup. Account creation via Google Sign-In or email unlocks favorites, order history, and personalized features.
